The SHIMA Association is composed of the following five categories of members:

Any person who is actively employed as a Health Information
Management professional (full time, part time or casual) in Saskatchewan
who is registered with the Canadian College of Health Record Administrators
and/or is a graduate of an approved Health Information Management program.
Eligible to vote and hold executive office |
| Inactive |
$25.00 |
Any person who is not actively employed
as a Health Information Management professional or a graduate of an approved
Health Information Management program residing outside of Saskatchewan
wishing to maintain membership with the SHIMA. |
| Associate |
$35.00 |
Any person who is not actively employed as a Health Information
Management professional or is employed in a related field. |
| Student |
No Charge |
Students in Saskatchewan who are enrolled in a course
approved by the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA). |
| Honorary |
No Charge |
Persons who meet the established criteria as outlined
in the Bylaws. |

Financial Management
The SHIMA allocates money toward the costs of:
- Printing of Newsletters and other material
- Postage
- Mileage for Executive Members to attend meetings
- Telephone Expenses
- Liability Insurance
- President's expenses to attend Canadian Health Information Management Association
National Convention
- Scholarships and Awards
