8 Tips To Find A Job:
- Find Job Listings - Check job, company and networking web sites and sites listed by type of job.
- Focus Your Job Search - Narrowing your search criteria will help you focus your search and give you more relevant job listings to review.
- Job Fairs - Attend these events to see what opportunities are out there
- Target Your Cover Letter and Resume - Take time to write a cover letter and resume that links your qualifications to the hiring criteria for the job you are applying for.
- Follow Up - Contact the business you have sent a resume to once a month to remind them you are still interested in working for them.
- Interview - Research the company before the interview, dress appropriately, practice answering and asking interview questions and make an effort to impress the interviewer with your skills, experience, confidence and expertise. Arrive 5 - 10 minutes early. Always look, speak and act professional.
- Accept or Decline a Job Offer - Take the time to carefully evaluate the offer so you are making an educated decision to accept or reject the offer. You don't have to accept a job just because it was offered to you, but do carefully evaluate it and if you decline do so politely.
